Massive movie trailer update
Okay, remember we promised a big update? We've just added a dozen movie trailers to the site. This update is so big, we had to split our Naughty Nun Theater into two pages!

The list of trailers we added is too long to overview in this space, so just head on over to the movie trailers section and don't forget to check out the second page as well as the first!

We've got more updates in store, so keep watching this space!

Verbotene Apfel reviewed!
Today, we bring you a review of another Giancarlo Bini film, Der Verbotene Apfel or The Forbidden Apple.

Fans may remember Giancarlo Bini as the director of another nunerotica film, Der Schwanze Nonnes von Monza AKA: Io La Monaca di Monza (although the film really has nothing to do with the Monza tale).

While the habits do come off too quickly for our tastes, Der Verbotene Apfel is pretty good as far as nun porn goes. Check out our review and image gallery

Nuns in anime: The NHK welcomes you!
We've got a big update planned soon, but while we're working on that, here's something to tide over you rabid nunsploitation fans!

In the first episode of the new anime Welcome to the NHK, Tatsuhiro Sato has a very detailed fantasy about Misaki Nakahara as a naughty nun. Check out this video clip of Misaki masturbating in full nun garb!

Special thanks to Doc Watson at our sponsor AnimeNation for tipping us off to this little piece of nunsploitation in anime!

Good Girl, Bad Girl reviewed
There's a new nunsploitation movie out that sort of crept up on us. Good Girl, Bad Girl is a German, made-for-TV movie filmed in English. It was recently released on DVD in the United States and it's surprisingly good!

German TV star Julia Stinshoff plays a dual role as twin sisters: The sexy nightclub dancer, Vanessa, and the pious nun, Maria. When Vanessa gets framed for murder, she seeks refuge in the convent, but the two girls get mistaken for each other. Sister Maria gets kidnapped and Vanessa is forced to disguise herself as a nun to hide from the law.

Good Girl, Bad Girl may have been filmed for a TV audience but the stunts and FX are on par with a big-budget, action movie. Check out our review and downloadable movie trailer!

Runa's Confession reviewed!
We finally got the opportunity to watch and review Kim Stim's DVD release of Masaru Konuma's nunsploitation entry into Japan's pinku eiga genre, Runa's Confession.

If you're a fan of Japanese nunsploitation films like School of the Holy Beast and Wet Rope Confession, then check out Runa's Confession for more off-the-wall sexploitation that beats out any Eurosleaze film hands down!

We've also added a movie trailer and an image gallery for you to check out! Runa's Confession is available through our sponsor HK Flix.

Canadians vie to be Nazis and Nuns
While it's not a nunsploitation film, a quick plot summary for The Sound of Music makes it sound like it should be!

Think about it, an unconventional nun is sent to be a nanny for a distinguished Austrian ex-military officer. She struggles between her vows and her attraction to him before she finally leaves the convent. Together, the two of them battle the Nazis and escape the clutches of the Third Reich. To date, it's the only film we've been able to find that combines nuns and Nazis, yet it is neither nunsploitation nor nazisploitation. There's something inherently wrong about that.

If that's not enough, Canadian studio CBC is launching a new reality show in which contestants will vie for lead role in the October production of The Sound of Music at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre.

"How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?" debuts June 15. A Canadian reality show dealing with Nazis and nuns and it's not even Canuxploitation?

Dark Chapel 2???
Japan Anime has been languishing since last year, pushing back release dates indefinitely and not releasing anything at all since October.

All of that changed yesterday when Morgan Evolh posted an announcement to the AnimeOnDVD forum announcing the June release of Mistreated Bride 3. Could Dark Chapel 2 be far behind? We'll keep watching but hopefully, the second part of this erotic nun anime will see an an English-language North American release soon!

Until then, enjoy our Dark Chapel image gallery and the downloadable movie trailer for Dark Chapel 1! The first installment of the series is available now from AnimeNation.

Kloster der Sunde reviewed!
Yes, we're hard at work here at Nunsploitation.Net trying to get through this back log of nun porn for you, our beloved visitors!

Today's review is another nun erotica title from Goldlight: Kloster der Sunde directed by Rud Meir.

It's the story of Jessi, a down-and-out prostitute who gets sick of streetwalking and joins the convent. Only in this convent, there isn't much difference between the life of a nun and the life of a prostitute....

Bad Lieutenant remake to star... Nicholas Cage?
Apparently, those awful National Treasure movies that Disney has been putting out serve a purpose: to spare us from a long line of bad remakes featuring Nicholas Cage. Hollywood's latest victim is Bad Lieutenant in which Cage will take on Harvey Keitel's role as a corrupt cop.

Bad Lieutenant was originall directed by Abel Ferrera with a writing assist from Zoe Lund (Ms. 45). In the movie, a dirty cop seeks two men who brutally raped a beautiful young nun. In the face of the nun's piety, he is forced to confront his own shameful past.

It's strange that Nicholas Cage is doing a nunsploitation remake since his sexy Ghost Rider co-star Eva Mendes confessed her childhood desire to be a nun last year.

Black Narcissus goes Blu-ray in the UK
Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger's 1947 nunsploitation classic Black Narcissus is scheduled for a Blu-ray DVD release in the U.K. on June 16 through UK distributor ITV DVD.

In addition to being a nunsploitation classic, the film is a masterpiece of world cinema and a must-see for all movie lovers. We highly recommend it!

Sacred Flesh director blasts BBFC
Nigel Wingrove, director of the most erotic nunsploitation films ever made, Sacred Flesh, blasted the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) today in a scathing post to the Salvation Films web site.

Wingrove's remarks were in response to the BBFC's April invitation to resubmit his film, Visions of Ecstasy with the promise that the film would likely be approved for distribution. The BBFC assured Wingrove that the blasphemy law the film was banned under would soon be abolished, clearing the way for the film's release.

Insulting the intelligence of the BBFC and calling their honesty into question, Wingrove stated on the web site: "At this stage we have not yet decided what to do with Visions but whatever we do it will be on our terms and without the connivance of one of the worlds most censorious bodies."

'Doubt' gets secret screening
Apparently, the rumors are true. There was a top secret screening of the big screen version of John Patrick Shanley's Pullitzer-winning play Doubt. According to producer Scott Rudin, a screening was held in Manhattan to gauge audience reaction. The screening was so low-key, not even Miramax new about it.

So far, the initial reaction has been positive. Ain't It Cool News has a review of the screening. "Hoffman, always fantastic, goes toe to toe with Streep -- and their face offs are explosive," Dave Feldman reports on Ain't It Cool. "The beautiful Amy Adams, who's generally known for her cute, quirky characters, shows she has got some real chops (She plays the nun in the middle of this moral tug of war). She plays her character with a real sense of inner strength amidst all of these battles."

Doubt is expected to be released December 5.

Sister Emanuelle single reminder
Just a reminder that Severin's single DVD release of Sister Emanuelle is slated for April 29.

The movie was released on DVD last year as part of Severin's Black Emanuelle box set along with Emanuelle in Bangkok and Emanuelle Around the World. The box set also comes with a bonus audio CD featuring a remastered soundtrack.

Sister Emanuelle is one of our Nunsploitation Best Bets. Check out our review!

Two new nunerotica reviews
We've got two new movie reviews for our Nunerotica section.

First, enjoy our review of Schwanze Nonnes von Monza (AKA: Io la Monaca di Monza). This is no ordinary convent! Not only is sex no longer taboo, but some of the nuns are not everything they appear to be....

Also check out our review of Der Alte Kardinal. The old Cardinal is ready to retire and the Mother Superior is glad to see him go. He has a reputation for fooling around with the nuns. Little does she know that his replacement is an even bigger lecher!

Sacred Flesh director may appeal blasphemy ban
Before director Nigel Wingrove made Sacred Flesh, the most erotic nunsploitation film ever, he directed a 19-minute film called Visions of Ecstasy. The short was characterized by the shocking anti-clerical erotic imagery Wingrove has become known for similar to the themes explored in Sacred Flesh. However, Wingrove was unprepared for the BBFC's decision to strike down the film under the UK's ancient blasphemy laws.

"I was gobsmacked by the reaction," Wingrove told The Guardian. "I can see why some people might have been offended, but it was pretty mild stuff, really."

However, the medieval relics of Europe's blasphemy laws may soon be coming to an end and the BBFC has recently invited Wingrove to resubmit Visions of Ecstasy for review.

Nunsploitation fans should take note that Wingrove included a scene in Sacred Flesh similar to the one that got Visions of Ecstasy banned, but the director learned his lesson and cast a nun on the cross to avoid another run in with the BBFC.

One Pound Gospel down for the count
The live action version of Rumiko Takahashi's romantic comedy One Pound Gospel (AKA: Ichi-pound no Fukuin) has come to an end.

Weighing in at 9 episodes, the series featured pop singer Kamenashi Kazuya as up-and-coming boxer Hatanaka Kosaku. Model Kuroki Meisa plays his love interest, Sister Angela -- yes, a nun (why else would we tell you about a TV show about a boxer?).

It's a great series with a very anime-like feel to it. We strongly recommend it to our visitors. No word yet on a home video release, but, as always, we'll be sure to keep you updated on the details.

Grindhouse star tapped for nun role
It's been a while since we had an update on the upcoming Mighty Macs movie Our Lady of Victory.

Filming is complete and the movie is in the midst of being scored. It should be ready for screening for distributors soon.

Grindhouse star Marley Shelton has been tapped to play assistant coach Sister Sunday. It looks like Shelton is going for as many fetishes as possible. She played a cheerleader in Sugar and Spice, a doctor in Grindhouse and now a nun. If she stays true to form, it's only a matter of time before she plays a flight attendant.

Devil of a mistake
It's gone as quickly as it had arrived.

Warner Home Video has removed the Devils artwork from their web site and called the announcement a mistake.

"There are absolutely no plans to put out The Devils in '08," said Warner Home Video publicity director Ronnee Sass.

Warner unleashes The Devils
March comes roaring in like a lion as we are elated to report that Warner Home Video has announced a May 20 release date for an uncut, official DVD of Ken Russell's The Devils.

The grandaddy of all nunsploitation films, The Devils sparked a host of imitators that created a golden age of nun exploitation movies.

No extra material has been announced yet, but plenty of extras have been made. The 'unofficial' DVD previously available to fans included Mark Kermode's "Hell on Earth" documentary. It's also been rumored that Ken Russell has already recorded his own audio commentary for the film.

We'll be bringing you the news as it comes to us and we'll be counting the days until May 20 is here!

Music Video Distribution (MVD) has announced a March 11 release date for The Devils of Monza, AKA: Sacrilege. The movie is available for preorder now from our sponsor DVD Empire.

Sacrilege is a 1986 retelling of the true story of Sister Virginia De Leyva, the infamous nun of Monza. Sacrilege is one of the most torrid, sexually charged versions of the tale.

Belgian director to make new 'Singing Nun' movie
Belgian film maker Stijn Coninx is prepared to direct a new movie about the tragic life of Jeanine Deckers, the infamous 'singing nun' of the 1960s. Belgian actor Cecile is being eyed for the title role.

The story of Jeanine Deckers, also known as Soeur Sourire, is a sad and tragic one. After scoring a number one hit with her song "Dominique" Deckers left the convent and went on to live with her lesbian lover, Annie Pescher. Since she was a nun at the time of the recording, all of the money from "Dominique" was donated to the convent. The government later went after Deckers for back taxes on profits she never received. Deckers and Pescher eventually committed suicide in 1985.

Sexy fitness ads stir controversy
A series of ads commissioned by Equinox Fitness of Boston has riled conservatives after an ad featuring garter-wearing nuns in a nude figure drawing class appeared in this month's Boston Magazine.

But wait! Boston? Isn't that the archdiocese at the heart of the Catholic sex abuse scandal? Do they really have room to complain about something as inconsequential as a magazine ad?

Read all about the the Equnox Fitness ad nuns and the controversy surrounding them!

Flavia, the Heretic uncut in the UK
Following their November UK release of The Killer Nun, Shameless Screen Entertainment is now releasing, for the first time in the UK, an uncut DVD version of Flavia, the Heretic.

This 1974 nunsploitation film starring Florinda Bolkan is an atypical entry into the genre. The story is very serious and dramatic, putting it at odds with more lurid nunsploitation fare. At the same time, the excessive violence and gore and the wanton nudity and sex make it far more exploitative than the art film crowd is used to.

Flavia, the Heretic will hit the shelves January 28 in the UK. Check out our upcoming movies section for the latest nunsploitation releases!

Monza's 'Sister Candida' comes to Texas
Nunsploitation fans may recognize Italian singer and actor Coralina Cataldi Tassoni from her role as Sister Candida in the 1986 Monza film Devils of Monza (AKA: Monaca di Monza, Eccessi, misfatti, delitti, AKA:Sacrilege).

Coralina will be appearing at the Texas Frightmare Weekend February 21 - 24 in Dallas, Texas. Discount tickets are available from now until February 1 at which time door prices will go into effect.

Angel Core reviewed
We've added a new title to our section for Nunsploitation anime.

Angel Core is a hentai anime title in which two feuding states are engaged in a bitter war, but one side has discovered a new weapon that may tip the balance -- the Angel Core. This amazing energy source is found in beautiful young girls, said to be descended from angels and it is nurtured through sex -- lots of it.

It doesn't matter if a couple of these girls happen to be nuns... It's a matter of doing your patriotic duty! Check out the review by Chris Beveridge and the downloadable movie trailer for Angel Core.

Special thanks to John W. at AnimeNation for bringing this title to our attention!

Mother Joan of the Angels director dies
Polish filmmaker Jerzy Kawalerowicz who directed Mother Joan of the Angels died at age 85.

Shot in high-contrast black and white, Mother Joan is the first cinematic portrayal of the Loudon story. A second, more controversial film was later made based on the same story -- Ken Russell's notorious 1977 film The Devils. The second movie set off a craze of nun exploitation movies in the '70s and established nunsploitation as a genre.

Although it did not feature the wanton nudity and gratuitous sexual perversity of The Devils, Mother Joan did feature some controversial anti-clerical elements. While Kawalerowicz would subtly critique authorities like the Catholic Church, the object of his criticism was more often Communism.

Mother Joan of the Angels is available on DVD from DVD Empire and HK Flix.
