Dangerous reviews

|
Our thanks go out to Lodger at File Thirteen for contributing his review of Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys. This film isn't as sexually exploitative as many of the films featured in our database, but we think our readers will appreciate it because in many cases, the boys in the story grow up to be our readers. It's an entertaining, quirky little film that may hold a unique appeal to nunsploitation fans. |

Two new stories!
Two new stories have been added to our Convent Library!
 |
|
Our thanks go out to Rachael for contributing her erotic story Second Chance, a wonderfully well written tale about a secret love a student holds for a nun. Our second story is a rare one. A Nun's Story is about a man who becomes a transgendered nun. The author has found a rather clever way to make this happen. If you have erotic nun fiction you'd like to contribute, send it to us and we'll consider it for our Convent Library. |

Trailers offline
Sad news.
Our bandwidth consumption has been a bit out of control. We had an outage earlier this year for several days because we exceeded our bandwidth quota. Just last month, we experienced just a few hours downtime on the 31st, in spite of an upgrade in May that nearly doubled our quota.
In order to keep the site running smoothly, we are taking the movie trailers offline, just for a few days. The movie trailers will return before the end of the month.

Eleven new movies!
 |
|
We've added eleven new movies to our erotic nun movie database. Out of these movies, we think readers would especially enjoy Love Doll.
It's a particularly perverse and nasty hentai anime about a novice nun who becomes the object of sexual gratification at the hands of her fellow nuns and even the bishop! Even when a long lost uncle takes her out of her convent, she is no better off because he subjects her to intense day-and-night training as a love doll (hence the title).
|
Special thanks to Chris Beveridge at Anime on DVD for writing reviews of Love Doll volumes one and two.

Ken Russell, director of The Devils -- the film responsible for a tremendous surge in nunsploitation films in the 1970s -- is working on a new movie: The Mystery of Mata Hari. The film is a low-budget project, financed by the cash-strapped Russell himself, having fallen out of favor with big Hollywood movie studios. HBO tackles Celibacy
|
As part of the America Undercover series, HBO is tackling the issue of sexual repression with Antony Thomas' 75-minute documentary "Celibacy".
In the film, Thomas contends that forced sexual repression leads to violence and blames the vow of celibacy taken by priests and nuns for the many scandals that have come to haunt the Catholic Church in recent years.
"Is sexual denial healthy or can it sometimes become dangerous?" Thomas asks.
"Celibacy" premiers tonight at 10 p.m. (Eastern and Pacific). HBO has a list of showtimes. |

Agnes of God stage revival
 |
|
If you find yourself in Cleveland, be sure to stop for the stage performance of Agnes of God.
Nunsploitation fans may be more familiar with the 1985 theatrical version of the story which earned two Oscar nominations. In short, Sister Agnes is found in her cell drenched in blood, nearby the corpse of her newborn infant is found. Is this a miracle? An Immaculate conception? Her fellow nuns think so. Ideaologies clash as investigators try to pin Sister Agnes with a murder charge. |
Agnes of God will be performed through May 2 at the Beck Center, 17801 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, OH. Call 216-521-2540 for details.

More casting Revelations
More casting news has been announced for NBC's six-episode drama Revelations:
 |
|
Joining Natascha McElhone (who will be playing a nun in the series) and Bill Pullman are John Rhys-Davis (Lord of the Rings) and twins Britney and Chelesy Coyle.
Rhys-Davis plays a wheelchair-bound astrophysicist. The Coyle twins, who make their screen debut with the series, will play girls who begin quoting scripture after being struck by lightning.
The series is scheduled to air September 2004 as a self-contained six-episode mini-series with the possibility of more episodes if the series does well.

New stories!
 |
|
We've added seven new stories to the Convent Library: "Alone in the Night," "Brothers & Sisters," "Chained, Tortured Nun," "The Corruption," "Dawn of the Succubi," "Demonchilde," and "Fall From Grace".
Please be warned, some of these stories are very graphic and may offend some readers. Please, read the synopsis and the warnings on the library main page and any warnings at the beginning of the story before you decide to continue reading.
|
Many of the stories in the library are early chapters of incomplete series or promise sequels that have never surfaced. Often, the authors simply do not finish the work or disappear from the net before posting all chapters.
If you have some of the missing chapters or if you have current contact information for authors of unfinished work, e-mail us at webmaster@nunsploitation.net so we can write to the authors and tell them how much we appreciate their stories. Maybe it will encourage them to finish some of these works.

Alyssa Milano's Deadly Sins reviewed!
 |
|
We've added a new review to our movie database.
See how Alyssa Milano fares as a novice nun in Deadly Sins. This direct-to-video movie is kind of tough to find, but if you're a die hard Alyssa fan, it's out there.
Alyssa sure looks cute in her little nun's outfit. To commemorate the occasion, we've added six Alyssa Milano wallpapers to our downloads section. |

Back online!
It's no April Fool's joke -- we're back online!
Heavy bandwidth consumption forced Nunsploitation.Net to go offline temporarily. We apologize for the inconvenience. In the future, we'll monitor site usage more closely and take large files offline earlier when it looks like bandwidth is going to be a problem. Taking the trailers down last month only gave two or three more days before regular traffic pushed us over our quota.
More news and updates to follow!
Monday, March 22, 2004
Trailers closed temporarily
We're sorry to report that the bandwidth problem is a bit worse than we originally thought. As a result, the movie trailers will be unavailable until March 1. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Sunday, March 21, 2004
Bandwidth alert
Nunsploitation.Net is coming close to hitting its bandwidth limit for the month. We'll be monitoring site usage closely. If the bandwidth gets too high, we may be temporarily closing high traffic areas -- just until the first of the month -- to ensure the site doesn't have to close down completely.

Nuns on TV
Another accomplished actress will be joining the cloister of TV nuns.
 |
|
Natascha McElhone (Solaris, Ronin) will be donning the nun's habit for an NBC pilot of Revelations. The show is about a group formed to delay the apocalypse as foretold in the Book of Revelations.
McElhone will be co-starring with Bill Pullman (Independence Day). Think of it as X-Files with a Biblical twist.
The series is scheduled to air September 2004.

Site Updates
We've made a few changes to make the site easier to navigate. The most obvious perhaps is the new navigation column on the left. The graphics have been removed and replaced with text to give us more room to offer a more thorough link list.
 |
|
We've also made some changes to our upcoming films section to make it more obvious that we offer movie trailers. Trailers have been up for a month, but due to an oversight on our part, the Halfway House trailer got buried.
Sorry about that. Head on over to Upcoming films and get yourself some trailers and see what new nunsploitation movies you can look forward to!
|
Speaking of upcoming films, Re-Animator director Brian Yuzna was recently interviewed by the Sci-Fi Channel. He talked about his next film Rottweiler which will use a combination of animatronics, computer effects and a real dog to create a monster movie dog.
Sadly, he made no mention of work being done on The Nun, but we're guessing that work on the upcoming nunsploitation film will speed up once he's done with Rottweiler.

New section! Naughty nun comics!
 |
|
It's taken a lot of work and research, but we're ready to unveil our new Printed Media section featuring naughty nuns in comics, manga, graphic novels and books.
We'll be adding books in the future like The AntiCristo, a guide to nun cinema that we use regularly here at Nunsploitation.Net, and The Awful Disclosures of Maria Monk, the Devils of Loudon, and other books that many movies here are based on. |
One thing that we are missing for the section are reviews! We need reviews! If you've read any of these comics, please submit a review to reviews@nunsploitation.net
In the meantime, we'll be adding more comics, more books and reviews as time allows.
This is also the perfect time to announce a new sponsor -- Mile High Comics! A well known name in the comics field, Mile High has a host of naughty nun comics available for you. If you like what you see in our Printed Media section, you can stop over at Mile High Comics and buy a copy for yourself! Enjoy!

New DVD release
We've added a new movie to our Upcoming films section.
 |
|
The Magdalene Sisters is scheduled for a March 23 DVD release date in North America.
Not your usual nunsploitaiton fare. This is a pretty grim movie about real events that took place in the Magdalene laundry houses of Ireland. It's got all the elements of typical Women In Prison/Nun horror, except for the fact that this stuff really happened.
We've got a great review for you by Mark Leeper and we've also got the trailer available for download.
So check it out and get hyped up for the March release. This movie will be available from DVD Empire. You can pre-order it now!

Kim Ki-duk brings home Silver Bear
 |
|
Korean film maker Kim Ki-Duk has won the Silver Bear award for best director in the Berlin International Film Festival for his movie Samaria.
Although it's not a nunsploitation movie, fans of the genre can certainly appreciate the exploitative promotional movie posters for the film featuring teenage star Kwak Ji-min wearing nothing but a nun's veil. The image is supposed to reflect the controversial and explicit nature of the story. |
The struggle ends
Well, we've finally finished uploading the last three chapters of Linda Jean's erotic short story Sister Mary Jean's Struggle
If you've been downloading the copies we've had up since Nunsploitation.Net was launched, you might want to replace them with new revised versions we received from Linda Jean with her current e-mail address
Linda Jean says she has no plans for another tale of misbehaving nuns, but if she ever writes one again, she promised to e-mail it straight to Nunsploitation.Net!

We've been slacking in the erotic fiction department. Net author Linda Jean has asked us to bump up distribution of "Sister Mary Jean's Struggle" and that's exactly what we're going to do! Three more chapters have been added to our downloads section and three more will follow later this week.
We've also added a little bit of information about Linda Jean in case anyone is curious about the author behind this incredible piece of erotic nun fiction....

Two new reviews
We're happy to offer you two more nunsploitation movie reviews.

Chris Blackford offers an in depth look into Walerian Borowczyk's Behind Convent Walls.
Is it mere sexual exploitation? Chris critiques Borowczyk's work in a serious light.
Also, Peter Danielsson offers a review of Joe D'Amato's L'Alcova. Strangely enough, it's included in this database because of the nunsploitation movie that is being filmed within the movie. |

Two new reviews!
 |
|
We're very pleased to add two great reviews to our database.
The kind folks at Movie Pie have given us permission to run a review of The Good Old Naughty Days. This fantastic DVD is a collection of naughty films from the 1900s to the 1930s. It includes two of the earliest examples of nunsploitation -- Mr. Abbot Bitt at Convent (1925) and Homework (1920). We've also added Wil Laughlin's review of Malabimba. It's chock full of details about the director and the film's remake La Bimba di Satana. |

 |
Our thanks goes out to Braineater for giving us permission to use Will's review.

Heretic has informed Nunsploitation.Net that an American DVD release will be scheduled in a matter of weeks. The DVD is slated to include a full director's commentary and the original trailer.

Speaking of reviews, in light of the occasion, we've spruced up the Sacred Flesh database entry with some new information, pictures and a review from our friends at Sex Gore Mutants.

4 movies, 1 review, and lots of goodies
We've got a lot of updates today.
 |
|
First and foremost, Ken Hall, director of upcoming nunsploitation B-movie Halfway House has contributed an alternate movie poster for his film.
Ken chose this particular gift because it shows off more of the nun horror aspect of the film.
We certainly appreciate this little gem, and we hope our readers do too!
|
We've also got four new movies:
Paghat, the Ratgirl, has contributed a short review of Ms. 45.
Finally, we've added a small image gallery to our downloads page with a handful of noteworthy pictures from the site.

The Reverend Mother Pussy Galore?
 |
|
BBC News reports that comedienne Jo Brand is going to be a nun in the pilot for the new ITV comedy, Sister Frances. We find it most amusing that Honor Blackman, Pussy Galor from Bond classic Goldfinger, is also starring as the convent's Mother Superior. It's not exactly nunsploitation, but it certainly is amusing! If you're going to be in London, you can be a part of the studio audience. They're filming on Sunday, Feb. 15. Get ticket information here. |

Devils and Angels
 |
|
Movie afficionados should be interested in trying out this pair of films. Ken Russell's The Devils and Jerzy Kawalerowicz's Mother Joan of the Angels are both based on the same true story that also inspired an Aldous Huxley novel.
The two films represent radically different takes on the story and are almost on opposite ends of the spectrum in the nunsploitation genre.
Both movies are now availble through our partnership with
Movies Unlimited. |

Unlimited Movies
Nunsploitation.Net is pleased to announce a partnership with
Movies Unlimited. Through Movies Unlimited's sponsorship, we are now able to offer five more movies for sale to our readers:
With this addition, half of the movies on the database are now available for sale. Nunsploitation.Net was started because it was so hard to find information about nunsploitation movies and hard to find places that sold them.
We've still got a lot of work to do, but we're happy to be able to offer one place where fans of the genre can read about these movies and buy the ones they're interested in.
Speaking of goals, we'd like to take this opportunity to thank Razor88 for posting our link at horrormovies.com. When people ask about nunsploitation movies, we want Nunsploitation.Net to be the place everyone directs them to. That's another one of goals.
Thanks Razor and welcome everyone joining us from horrormovies.com

Nunsploitation in Asia
Korean movie director Kim Gi-duk is using the age old trick of nun exploitation to boost interest in his new film, Samaria.
A movie poster for the film features his teenage leading lady, Kwak
Ji-min, posing nude wearing nothing but a nun's habit. Ji-min never appears as a nun in the movie. Rather, her character is a teenage prostitute. The nun imagery in the movie poster is supposed to reflect the controversial content of the film.
In other Asian nunsploitation news, a new Indian movie, Kovil directed by Hari and starring Silambarasan and Sonia Agarwal features a little nunsploitation twist.
The story is about Shaktivel, a boy from a strict Hindu family, who falls in love with Sonia, a girl from a strict Christian family. To stop the two from continuing their relationship, Sonia's parents persuade her to join a convent and become a nun. Sound familiar? It's only the plot of almost every movie in the database.
As far as I can tell, there's no sexploitation in the film, although Agarwal looks gorgeous. I haven't seen any stills of her in nun attire, so I don't even know if she actually dons nun garb in the movie. Released early this month, the film has been getting mixed reviews.

Nunsploitation mini-series tops ratings
Director Francesca Archibugi seems to have found success in adapting classic Italian novel "The Betrothed" (I Promessi Sposi) into a TV mini-series.
"Renzo e Lucia" topped ratings its first two nights on commercial network Canale 5, in spite of the competition from Italian Cup soccer games.
The series boasts full-frontal nudity and sex as Lucia (Laura Morante) must choose between love and her vows to the convent.
The Demons are out!
Just a reminder that X-Rated Kult DVD's release of Jess Franco's The Demons is being released in Europe today! This DVD is probably a region 2 PAL release. No word on any plans for a North American release.

Reviews removed
We're sad to report that the editors at digitallyOBSESSED have asked us to stop publishing the full text of their reviews. We have removed Mark Zimmer's reviews of Black Narcissus and Good Old Naughty Days at their request.
We would like to stress that we did not use these reviews without permission. We e-mailed Mark and received his permission and the terms of use for these reviews. There just seems to be a difference in opinion over how the reviews may be used by third parties.
Nunsploitation.Net respects the rights of writers and publishers. We do not publish reviews without receiving written consent. As such, we also respect the rights of writers and publisher to rescind such consent and we have cooperated fully with digitallyOBSESSED in this matter.
We apologize to our readers for the inconvenience. We will try to replace the reviews we've been asked to remove.

Tons of updates
We've added about 17 new movies to the nunerotica database. They're mostly German and Italian titles and we don't have complete information for all of them. So, if anyone can help us with plot summaries, or the names of cast and crew members, please e-mail us.
 |
|
There are a lot of updates today, but I want to bring your attention to Holy Virgins.
This movie has the honor of being the first hentai anime to make it into our database. I'm sure there are a lot more, but given the language barrier, it's a bit difficult to research Japanese nunsploitation.
Chris Beverdige from AnimeOnDVD.Com has written a review of the DVD. Special thanks goes out to him for his contribution.
We still need some info on the voice actors, so feel free to contribute more information. |

Four new movie reviews
We're kicking off the New Year by adding four new reviews to our nunsploitation movie database.
Peter Danielsson of Inzomniac's Movie Madness has reviewed Joe D'Amato films Convent of Sinners and Demonia.
He's also done reviews of Bruno Mattei's Other Hell and Story of a Cloistered Nun.
We'd like to extend our thanks to Inzomniac's Movie Madness for being generous and sharing these reviews with us.
