Gene Roddenberry never saw fit to pair Captain Kirk with a 23rd century nun, but if he had, I bet she'd have been wearing something like the outfits envisioned by the New York design collective, ThreeAsFour.
Their new Fall and Spring designs feature nun-like hoods, veils and coifs, with flowing dresses, jackets and capes, yet all of the designs are incredibly sexy, showing off the shoulders, legs, or more!
Fashion critic Lynn Yaeger had a chance to see ThreeOfFour's latest designs.
"Medieval nuns in black and ivory glitter tunics tending bonsais set on mirrored columns!" she wrote in her blog for New York Magazine "That's how I want to greet the most fraught era in American history in 70 years!"
The idea of having the models water bonsais at the fashion event came to ThreeAsFour designer Adi Gil in a dream.
"We wanted to do something different," said Gil. "Something that felt honest to this time."
ThreeAsFour's designs are amazing. They look futuristic, sexy and nun-like all at the same time! Nun fashion has changed radically over the years, especially since Vatican II. Sure, hemlines have gotten higher (woo-hoo!), but many orders have dropped the garb that made them identifiable, namely the veil. Perhaps, ThreeAsFour's coifed fashions will herald a return for the veil. I know one thing for sure, I would absolutely love for nuns to dress like these ladies!

Below: More ThreeAsFour designs. These amazing outfits are functional, sexy and futuristic! Have you ever seen outfits like these that make women look more sexy and more nunlike at the same time?
