Pictures from Mario Salieri's Il ConfessionaleIl Confessionale is somewhat of a movie of milestones for nun porn. It marks the debut of beautiful porn performer Monica Roccaforte who has gone on to a very successful career in European adult film.
It is also a film of some notoriety after it was learned the movie was filmed under false pretenses at an actual Catholic Church.
Finally, it is ironic that this film is an example of what should happen if the incidents in this movie ever go from fantasy to reality. In light of the Catholic priest sex abuse scandals that dominated headlines in the years since Il Confessionale was made, we discovered the idea of priests abusing their power and influence for sexual gain is not so far fetched. The irony lies in the fact that the punishment our ficticious priest receives in the movie is harsher and more severe than what real life priests got for far more heinous offenses.
The priest in Il Confessionale is disgraced. He has been defrocked as a man of the cloth and excommunicated from the Church. In real life, we see that mentally ill priests who have sexually abused children -- boys and girls -- were allowed to keep their collars and were merely shuffled around from one diocese to another -- a practice that often perpetuated the sexual abuse.
It's definitely bizarre when the expectations set by a pornographic fantasy are actually something that the real-life Church has yet to meet.
